Cesc Fabregas involved in Chelsea training ground bust-up

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas was involved in a training group bust-up on Jose Mourinho’s penultimate day at the London club.

According to reports from The Times, Chelsea arranged a mixed training session on Wednesday involving both senior squad members and players from the club’s academy.

During the training, a strong but fair challenge from Cesc Fabregas on one of Chelsea’s U-21 young players led to a bust-up, which led to several players joining in, and ultimately the pair has to be separated by the coaching stuff.

Matt Hughes writes that it is unsure how Jose Mourinho was involved with the incident, if at all. The Portuguese has left the club on “mutual consent” on Thursday evening, with the club’s Sporting director revealing Chelsea needed to act quickly to arrest the gradual disharmony within the dressing room that developed under Mourinho.

Fabregas has had a poor season for Chelsea, failing to make a strong impression for the Blues so far. Last season, the Spaniard registered 18 assists but this season he has been no where near to his best.
