With that said, the amount of money that can be generated from a football club ownership (provided the team’s well managed and starts winning trophies) is non-negligeable: TV rights, merchandising, and ticket sales are at the top of the money-making list. If your team is playing the Champions League, revenue is multiplied exponentially. So no wonder the likes of Glazer, Magnusson, Shinawatra and Usmanov are getting into the business.
