excellent post.

I was screaming this throughout the World Cup as well, that both Lennon and Beckham should be playing in the squad. The way I see that working is something like this:

GK - Robinson
DEF - Neville, Terry, Ferdinand, A. Cole
MID - Lennon, Beckham, Hargreaves, Gerrard, J. Cole
ATT - Wayne Rooney

This is an extremely fluid lineup able to play 4-5-1, 4-3-3 or even 4-2-2 if the need arises.

Carrick can be interchanged with Hargreaves, while Lampard, Gerrard and Joe Cole can rotate through the other two midfield positions. Obviously, in such a lineup Beckham and Lennon are not immune either - but playing like this will 1) put more emphasis on possession football and 2) encourage us to build a fluid team that can play under any conditions.</description>
