Every match Shevchenko plays further proves he is not going to reach back into his past form. it pains me to say this as a Chelsea supporter, but he may be the worst investment in a player the club has ever made. He has lost pace, vision, skill, power, and intelligence on the pitch.

Ten Cate will need to help Grant bring in some more attacking strikers to fill out the depleted and thin strike force at the Bridge first.

I think the Premier League is far different than that of the Aeredivision and La Liga. The EPL is far more physical and the players at chelsea with the exception of Joe Cole, Kalou, and Ashley Cole, lack the flair that makes Ajax and Barca so special.

I still am not at all convinced that Cate can make chelsea play beautiful football. Rather, I see this as another attempt by Abramovich to just throw money (1.8 million per year for 3 years) at the problem that is Chelsea.

There are only two options left for Chelsea --- either they collect themselves and become the force they were 2 years ago or they will crumble and become the new Leeds. The become the force they were, they need to realize the losses that have made and get rid of Sheva and Ballack and let go of Lampard and Makalele --- bring in young and eager stars and accept that this is not their season.

Personally, I would like to see them crumble, but for the EPL's sake they need to get back on track --- and how it hurts to say that!
