Can Arsenal Lure Mexes And Pato To The Emirates? Bet A Million Dollars But They Won’t!
Here is another transfer rumour story that is surely going to the bin before too long. It has been speculated by The People that Premier League club Arsenal are looking to land the Italian Serie A duo Philippe Mexes and Alexander Pato!
It has been reported that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is eager to sign AS Roma defender Philippe Mexes and AC Milan striker Alexander Pato in January. Pato is said to provide support up front while Mexes is supposed to be a replacement for the almost-certain-to-depart William Gallas.
Now this is certainly a story that has been hatched on the spur of the moment. Mexes has persistently remarked that he is happy at Roma and recently denied that he didn’t want to move to AC Milan.
Pato has been a revelation at AC milan and the Brazilian youngster is certainly not to barter San Siro for the Emirates. As if….!!!!!
Well, this is another example of what most readers would term as “lazy journalism”. From where do they get such stories!? I mean, did they get any “insider” to make any suggestion that Wenger was interested in signing Mexes and Pato? And if indeed there was any such “insider”, can the whole world know who this “insider” is so we can pelt them with eggs and refuse?

It is possible we would buy him
December 16th, 2008 @ 20:33Regardless, Pato’s going to be out of your price range. Might make sense if Bendtner’s on his way out, but Pato is way out of Wenger’s price range. Mexes is a possibility, though, especially if Gallas leaves, which he probably will.
December 17th, 2008 @ 02:26if this “insider†is to be pelt with eggs and refuse. then you should get the same treatment for repeating after him. Arsenal will not throw money. its not gonna happen.
December 17th, 2008 @ 02:29Young players are keen to join arsenal. eg ramsey.
December 17th, 2008 @ 03:51cos they know in arsenal, young players are groomed to be world stars of the future.
so dont be suprised if those 2 players jump ship on the cheap.
mexes is a decent defender, but he is inferior to gallas in my opinion
December 17th, 2008 @ 08:23i just want to say that wenger had 30m to spend in the summer so i dont think he will spend it now, even if he does pato will be out of the price range and maxes is only a possible target, i dont think wenger will go over the 20m mark for one player, so its more likly he will waste the money on rubbish players like, alonso eg.
December 17th, 2008 @ 22:09Pato to Arsenal? Ye-esss…. latest news is that Milan will apparently trade him plus £20 million to keep Phillipe Senderos.
Ludicrous. Journalism truly is an easy life.
December 18th, 2008 @ 13:56sign the whole lot from serie A
Pato for Bendtner
March 19th, 2009 @ 16:44Giovinco
ETC
Pato could go he was bought by carlo ancelotti and linked away alot recently chelsea are keen on aguero so a big bid and he would go as arsenal are currently better than ac milan as recent cl pots show. And wenger said he would rather spend out on one player rather than buy many since he has over 35 mil dunno about mexes thou i guess if gallas leaves maybe
