Football News 24/7
Cameroon’s Olympic team is coached by Martin Ntoungou Mpile and not Jules Nyongha. There also has been a late change in the roster as Nancy’s Landry Nguemo had to drop out and was replaced by winger Serge Ngal of Uniao Leiria of Portugal. Bikey, Alex Song and Mbia all started for Cameroon’s senior team which advanced to this year’s African Nations Cup. Also watch for Nantes’ new signing forward Christian Bekamanga who was their top scorer in Olympic qualifying. This should be an interesting team to watch at the Olympics.
July 29th, 2008 @ 01:12I think this current cameroun team would do just fine
July 31st, 2008 @ 09:36Many questions to ask. Why did Eto refuse to join the suad? Why were players given only a million france as prim? Why are there no home base players except Tignem represented in the team? despite their struggle from the beginin.
August 1st, 2008 @ 20:32What i know is that Cameroon is very unserious abt the game, Maybe cus they are a keeper of the title
THE COUNTRY MAY BE MAKING A VERY BIG MISTAKE IF A GREAT AND TALENTED PLAYER LIKE SAMUEL ETO’O IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE 2008 OLYMPICS SQUAD. I THEREFORE RECOMMEND HIM AS A PLAYER THAT WILL MAKE THINGS HAPPEN IN THAT TOURNAMENT.I WISH THE PLAYERS THE BEST AND GOD’S BLESSINGS AS THEY GO OUT TO BRING THE GOLD.
August 5th, 2008 @ 13:31There is not much to say but to give these guys a good and heroic support as they move into the stadium to start their matches. Let the gods of our fatherland guide and protect them. This is not time for criticisms. Bravo to all the baby lions.
August 6th, 2008 @ 08:57cameroonians are blessed with football so instead of the criticism lets encourage the squad because they were not selected on assumptions but from their performances in their clubs. so for me not only old stars are to be called up, because the selection was not done with closed eyes. i conclude by saying believing in them can them do the best every one espects.
August 6th, 2008 @ 13:43please i think the team is good. but why can an anglophone not be a coach of our national team also. An also why is it that all the olympic football quard, i cannot fine even one anglophone player there. i think this is not a national team, is a la republic team.
August 7th, 2008 @ 11:12i wish we should show national unity towards our country men.
God bless you
Allez les Lions!
August 7th, 2008 @ 20:41alles les lion, we have made it here to chair up for you guys, so don’t dissapoint us, we will be right there at tianjin stadium with our patrotic flags up, one world , one dream
August 8th, 2008 @ 06:13Crazy la Republic of Cameroon. Useless and good for nothing Mr Paul Biya and his Government. Not one anglophone on the team.
August 8th, 2008 @ 11:08This is wicked. Dont be surprised the team will put up the worst show in this olympics.
I HAVE HIGH HOPES FROM ALL THE COUNTRIES WHICH ARE TAKING PART IN THE 2008 BEIJING OLYMPIC AND I WISH THEM GOOD LUCK.
August 10th, 2008 @ 04:39THE PREDICTION IS HARD TO MAKE ON WHO IS GOING TO GET THE GOLD, BRONZE AND SILVER MEDAL.
FOR THE CAMEROONIAN TEAM I HAVE A BIT CONFIDENCE ON THEM AND WILL LIKE THEM TO PUT IN MIND LIKE WHAT THEIR BROTHERS DID IN SIDNY OLYMPIC. TO BE MORE CONFIDENCE AND GO FOR THE GOLD. THEY SHOULD KNOW THEY ARE THE “LIONS†AND KING OF THE FOREST.
I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF TALENTED YOUNG PLAYERS IN THEIR SQUAD AND WHAT IS LAKING IS COURAGE AND CONFIDENCE OF THE PLAYERS.
I SAY THIS TO ALL THE CAMEROON FOOTBALL SQUAD †YEAH MAN GO ON, WE ARE IN CHINA AND WE ARE BEHIND YOU AND WE WILL BE THERE ON THE PITCH FOR YOU.
“ALLEZ LES LIONâ€
My good wishes go with you all guys, work hard and remember this a chance to make a difference in your own lives. We are behind you and do your best and live the rest to the good Lord
August 10th, 2008 @ 15:50I think i’m patriotic enough to mention that this Olympic squad isn’t bad but i don’t think FECAFOOT is; otherwise they wouldn’t just care about selecting simply a good squad composed “ALL 23 of Francophones ONLY”.For the interest of building closer relations amongst Cameroonians (Franco- and Anglophones), i think Anglophones will welcome very much say a 70% Franco- and 30% Anglophones Squad. I don’t even want to believe otherwise, that FECAFOOT may be claiming Anglophones can’t play football! I think, who ever is the selection commitee of the National Squads isn’t good for “CAMEROON” as a country but for the so-called “LA REPUBLIC”. That’s not just my point of view but also that of many other fellow folks!
August 11th, 2008 @ 07:31We are proud to have the “Indomitable Lions” in the 2008 Olympic Games. Go guys and keep the flag high as ever in matters of football!
To my fellow countrymen contributors:
-Could we see this team as a national team and stop exposing this your myopic way of thinking in terms of Anglophone or Francophone?
-This is Sports! NOT politics.
-Let us try to write in acceptable English. Luckily for the Iyoks, the Neba Ches and the Akontehs you did not disclose your addresses. It is a shame to read what some of us write on this forum, yet we pass around for English teachers!
I will our dear LIONS the best at Beijing 2008! “Un seul mot: CONTINUEZ!”

August 13th, 2008 @ 12:23!!! ALLEZ LES LIONS !!!
We’re all proud of our Indomitable Lions for reaching the quarter finals of the Olympics 2008 ! Congratulation to the Crew ! We’ll be cheering, celebrating and hoping for a next win of our team.
I think it’s not any politics (coz i’m not a politician) when pointing a finger at FECAFOOT for making an “unjust selection” made of Francophones only! I think the Cameroonian’s National Teams especially that of football should be one of the platforms amongst many others where Cameroon should demonstrate to those who doubt it,that Anglophones and Francophones can coexist, work and succeed together. It’s rather so unfortunate that this chance isn’t being exploited by the forces in place.
“This forum shouldn’t be a place to talk or do politics and other irrelevant stuff that hasn’t anything to do with Football ! “
August 13th, 2008 @ 23:10I AM SO ANGRY THAT MY COUNTRY WAS DECFECTED BUT CE NA PAS LA PROBLEME.THE PLAYERS I EXPECTED TO SEE ON THE GAME WAS NOT THERE. BUT GUYS YOU PLAYED SO WELL I WAS VERY PROUD OF YOU GUYS HERE IN AMERICA. GOD BLESSED THE LIONS.
