Good summary of our recent history there Gary, few little inaccuracies but I’ll let you off

However the gloom has lifted from the Abbey in recent weeks, what with the new manager and a list of new signings including returns for Carden and Pitt. Although we don’t have great depth in our squad, the starting 11 is probably stronger than it was at this time last year. Fingers crossed we’ll be there or there abouts again next term.

And now there is talk of Pitt returning. It makes one wonder whether the strange decisions that dave mynott alludes to were the reason for Quinn’s departure. The board seem to be doing their best to reverse as many of them as they can.

Good article, Gary – it certainly tests the nerves supporting your home town club, because uncertainty is the norm these days. Quinn did seem to make some strange decisions aftrer the play off final, so who knows. The new manager certainly seems a strong character and Carden (our best outfield player last season) is back as player/assistant. I feel better than I did a few days ago!

Shows how quickly things change in football. When that was put into the Soccerlens system you were still mangerless!

Cambridge didn’t finish third, they finished second, albeit on the last day of the season… And we have just appointed a new manager, with a playing assistant, so things are looking slightly better. Nice article though!
