According to Le Parisien, the French champions are set to complete a season long loan deal for Xavi.

The Barcelona midfielder announced his departure this season and will join Qatari club, Al Sadd in the summer. However, in an attempt to avoid the FFP hit, PSG have negotiated a loan deal for the Spanish international.

Manchester City did something similar last season when they loaned Frank Lampard from the MLS.

However, Xavi’ arrival is set to draw curtains on the PSG future of Yohan Cabaye.

The former Newcastle man has been starved of game time this season and it will get worse once the Barcelona midfielder arrives this summer.

It is believed that Cabaye is interested to return to the Premier League and his compatriot Arsene Wenger remains a keen admirer.

Wenger is prepared to offer Cabaye a way out and sign him at a cut price deal. Perhaps as an alternative to Mathieu Flamini.

Arsenal have fallen short of central midfielders at times this season due to injuries to Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey. Cabaye would be a shrew acquisition and could play an integral role as a squad player.

The French midfielder boasts tremendous Premier League experience and will be able to contribute straight away without the hassle of a bedding period.

Whether or not Cabaye returns to the Premier League with Arsenal, remains to be seen. However, there is little doubt that the move makes perfect sense for both parties involved.
