How do you improve grass-roots football?

One of the best ways to ensure that is to train the coaches at lower levels, and when you have so little money available for the game at the lower level, personal time spent by elite coaches in grassroots football is very helpful.

This summer, some of the leading professional managers have spent their valuable time holding training sessions with non-league football clubs across England.

The sessions were held as part of an initiative called ‘Budweiser Coach the Coaches,’ which is backed by The League Managers Association, where non-leagues coaches got the opportunity to enhance their technical training skills.

The sole purpose of the programme has been to provide clubs with a pre-season confidence boost and ensure they head into the new season with a sense of optimism.

Former Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce, Birmingham boss Alex McLeish, Former Stoke City boss Tony Pulis are few others visited non-league football clubs like Dorking FC, Blackfield, Oldham Boro FC, and spoke about tactics, development of technical abilities, how to work on physical fitness and other related areas.
