They need a new head coach, someone who can inspire them and coach them professionally.

I think it is time to consider whether "interim" coach Bradley has taken this team as far as he can. This match and other recent poor displays (irregardless of results) suggest a man out of ideas. Bradley's starting selections have always been suspect and never more so than in this last match ( as so well pointed out by the author). Bradley did a great job of pulling the team out of a slump and giving it a fresh start. But it seems to me that this is a situation similar to a championship manager making it to the premiership. He got us out of the B league and now we need someone tested who can bring us success in the A league. Let's get out the check book and go after Guus.

D16, What an amazingly insightful and honest piece regarding the most embarassing soccer match the US has played (or failed to play) in years - if not ever, all things considered. The 4-3-3 is certainly NOT the way to match-up against a CR team that has the athletes and skill they possess at MF, especially on turf with our MF as it was set. Our lack of pure speed and our big-bodied MF (Bradley)or not the fleetest (Pablo) was not the way to go. Jozy (or Dempsey) up top with a 1 or 2 is a great call. Landon and his extreme inability to play with his back to the frame is magnified in a game like this. Look at his past 10 goals (other than PK's - which he seems to get 'em all) versus Dempseys and the absolute differing amount of skill and work involved.

How old is Torres, is he 21 yet? When he got torched at the top of the 18, I had immediate flashbacks of the Goose. Not pretty!

Your calls about Beaz and Adu are spot on as well. I assume you are a coach somewhere.

Let's all hope Bradley does the one thing he seems to do better than Bruce, and that is learn from his mistakes.

God Bless the USA!

I'm so glad you put this!! I was definitely thinking this while watching the match. It's the world cup qualifiers.. Why doesn't he bring stronger players? I don't get it?!
