As a season ticket holder who has seen 90% of ALL games this season:-

Santa Cruz has already left in his head
Pedersen has had 1 decent game in two years
Roberts isnt good enough for the reserves
Samba makes Titus Bramble look like Beckenbauer

so.

Blackburn just might stay up !

Souness would be a disaster as he would lose half the playing staff almost immediately. Ince just needed some good coaching staff around him and that's still what we need a complete managerial team, it's not a one man job. The players are just as good as last season if not better, just give them correct motivation and direction and you will see results improve. Football is now motivated in every direction by money and unfortunately we reap what we sow.

I'm affraid that who ever "takes" the job at Blackburn wont have "got" the job at Sunderland; so Souness seems likely on that basis, being one of the few names not linked in any seriousness with the Makems. But I think David O'Leary would be a better bet; he got a good response from Villa who were near the relegation zone with a limited squad, an awful defense and a miss firing attack. O'leary will certainly be able to improve upon the defence and he seems to have a knack of putting an arm around his players and getting the best out of them.

I fear the damage has already been done and we are certainties for relegation. I think Souness would give us the best chance of a quick return.. We need a ball winner and a lightning quick centre forward as priorities. Our defence is a shambles as we have no midfield to give any kind of protection to them.
