Chris, we were SO sluggish in the first half. Ronaldo passed once to Saha, once to Rooney, once to Scholes, once to Carrick (at least that many) before shooting. He was running faster than anyone else, and most importantly, he was having fun. I agree, he needs to be away from the deadballs, but you can't knock his effort (and a lot of his performance) from yesterday. He's growing up, thank God for that :)

For the love of god someone stop Ronaldo taking the freekicks. The only freekick of the whole game that caused them problems was the one Ronaldo didnt take. I thought Ronaldo was lazy and selfish. He didnt pass at crucial time (one which would have put Carrick through on goal) and instead ran into defenders. Literaly. And he has an inability to chase back. Even for 5 yards. He just stops. Its irritating.

3 points are 3 points, but Ronaldo needs more to his game than running, and playing Rooney on the left wing was a bizzare choice. Rooney needs to be in the middle mixing it up, but fair play to him he was great defensively. As were most of the team. Considering the barrage we came under in the first half, the fact we kept a clean sheet cant have all been defensive luck.

Getting Giggs back will be good for creativity, and keeping Ronaldo away from the deadballs....

the guys looks good despite an unfortunate draw to reading and a sloppy defeat tagainst arsenal.fletcher is improving massively and hate to see bad comments about him when he plays fine. may be he is scottish that's the reason.you can see the determination the boy has.i just hope richardson improves as well, coz he is playing so bad and with a negative attitude. why is david jones not given 10 or 15 mins of football for instance games like fulham or charlton were we won by big margins but is not on bench.
i can safely say that we can trounce benfica 3 against 0. Man Yoo For Ever. Big up.

Isn't hell the Ali Sam Yen of Galatasaray?
Definetly agree with you that Ronaldo will be standout. I think he's looked a different player this season, a whole lot more end product and he seems take on more responsibility for the teams now (the solo goal vs. Reading).
I wouldn't rule out Benfica getting a goal on a set piece though. Corners or Simao from freekicks.
