Arsene Wenger has urged not to ‘panic’ following Olivier Giroud’s injury, but even the Frenchman knows he has limited options at hand. There is a high possibility that Wenger might delve into the transfer market in the next four days.

Also, Arsenal are looking to add a strong defensive midfielder. Portugal media have reported extensively that the Gunners are keen to sign William Carvalho, though the North Londoners can face a tough competition from Manchester United.

Arsenal had already lodged couple of bids for Carvalho, but both were rejected. Sporting are willing to sell the Portugal international for a cut price fee of €30m, but they want the payment at one go, as they only own 60% of his economic rights and would want to extract as much profit as they can from the deal.

But it is the forward options that hold immediate concern. Portuguese giant Benfica are willing to add a forward to their ranks and have targeted Arsenal youngster Joel Campbell.

According to Portugal newspaper Record, Benfica are willing to do a business with Arsenal for Campbell, who impressed heavily during the World Cup in Brazil for Costa Rica. The Eagles will make a move for him, should Wenger decide to release him.

At this moment, it is hard to see Wenger selling one of his forwards to any club. He might send him on loan though provided Arsenal sign a top class striker in the next few days.
