Benatia’s head turned after Manchester United meeting

Share

The Mehdi Benatia transfer saga has taken another twist. The highly rated central defender has been a reported target of Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea, while recent reports suggest German giants Bayern Munich were plotting a move to sign him.

Earlier this week, GDM reported that Bayern had offered €25m for his services, however, Roma were seeking around €40m. GDS also claimed that Roma officials have held meeting Manchester United as well.

Reports from Italy suggested that Walter Sabatini flew to London to find an alternative of Benatia, with Manchester City’s Nastasic and Tottenham’s Vlad Chiriches were thought to be possible options.

Now, Corriere dello Sport reports that situation of Benatia has become critical with the defender being accused of giving priority to personal interests than his team and it is creating undue tension in the dressing room.

Despite several attempts been made to convince him to stay with Roma officials, it seems that he is hellbent of leaving the club. CDS claim his head been turned and his heart lying elsewhere, no longer wanting to play for Roma.

He wasn’t included in Rudi Garcia’s squad for this weekend’s friendly match against Fenerbahce and seems like heading for exit.

  1. If i get dimaria, vidal and banitia .i wil have a complete team.

  2. He is the kind of player United needs, LVG has to press hard to see that he gets his signature, its posibo if we get Vidal then United will be hard to break.

  3. Lol…no ECL football, spent 200m on transfers and the wage bill has gone up by 2.5m a month. Better sell more shares cos the debt has reached 500m again
