Cristiano Ronaldo is 2008 Ballon D’Or Winner
Cristiano Ronaldo has won the 2008 Ballon D’Or award by an overwhelming margin. Ronaldo comfortably beat his main rivals Messi and is now the fourth Manchester United player (after Law, Charlton and Best) and the first England-based player since Michael Owen to win the France Football award.
The Ballon D’Or will go nicely with his UEFA MVP and FIFPro World Player of the Year awards, and now all eyes are on the 2008 FIFA World Player of the Year award, one that he is again expected to win.

Ballon D’Or 2008 Nominees
The Ballon D’Or shortlist for 2008 comprises of 30 footballers who have excelled in their performances for club and country over the previous season.
The award is presented by France Football magazine and the winner is selected on December 2 when 96 journalists from around the world cast their vote in a poll to determine who was the best performer in the 2007/2008 season.

As much as i hate to admit it it looks like that c@#! Cristiano Ronaldo is gonna win it, and Messi second but my bet is on Torres for 3rd.
Well i guess i wont be surprised by the winner this year, Ronaldo should take it.
Then behind the duo, of course Torres, he’s been brilliant with Liverpool, then went to win the Euro, scoring the only goal of the final.

between messi and ronaldo i personally think cristiano ronaldo should win. Having said that, Messi is an absolutely incredible talent who will be great for many more years to come. However, both greatly talented players they are, ronaldo’s talent resulted in earning him many indivdual awards and the premier league and chamipons league trophy. 2008 was Cristiano Ronaldo’s year and therefore he should be given the ballon d’or. If ronaldo and messi weren’t in the running i would have to choose Edwin Van Der Sar. In my opinion he is the greatest keeper ever. He is fantastic even with his age he continues to win these big trophies. He will be remembered long after he retires.

If all we’re gonna talk about is goals I think it pays to remember that CR7 is ManU’s penalty taker where as Torres ISN’T. Some people’s arguments seem to be centered on the fact that CR7 scored more goals then Torres ergo he is better. If you took away his penalties however I reckon it would be closer.
