The A-League is the premier Australasian domestic Association football (soccer) competition. Run by Australian governing body Football Federation Australia, it was founded in 2004 and staged its inaugural season in 2005-06.

It is sponsored by Hyundai Motor Company Australia, and is therefore officially known as the Hyundai A-League.

    Adam, very well put together! I live in Oz myself these past 7 years but have to admit I have no interest in the A-League. Its like when I lived in Ireland and had no interest in the League of Ireland.
    Unfortunately, all the quality moves abroad at the first opportunity and the standard is poor.

    You’ll find on here that most people want to discuss the EPL and hence so little response to your good work.

    Cheers BD. Your right the A-League can be a little drab at times, but its improving over time. Although it will never be of the standard of the World’s top leagues, it should serve as a good proving ground for Australia’s young talent.
