Australia are in Group A alongside Argentina, Ivory Coast and Serbia, making for a tough Olympic campaign. With Argentina expected to go through to the knockout stages and Australia with very little experience / quality in their squad, it seems that this team might just make up the numbers in Beijing as opposed to making waves.

Thx for this!!!!!!! come on u Aussies!!!!
this team is going to get destroyed. none of your players playing abroad are on top division teams, the few that are don’t play. It’s all domestic, you guys should be easy to beat.
Maybe the reason why Australias soccer teams are not strong is because the most talented sportspeople in the country have a broader range of sports to choose from to make a career out of then most countries. Also, soccer is not in the top 4 most popular sports, this added to the fact that most young kids in Australia opt to play the most exciting form of football, Australian Rules Football and it is not suprising that Australia is not a great soccer nation.
Max Zeger the stupid coach chose a reserve team except for the starting defenders… Everyone hates him! The week after they name the team, more or less, Djite scores two in his debut in a pre-season game for a Turkish club. Very much a reserve team.
Bob… No one listen to him, AFL is a fairies game and won’t ever be an international game, even if they are trying.
I’ll post a list of players overseas.
football will take over AFL in Australia, AFL is a gay sport where men jump on each other, with very little tachnical skill involved, missing shots 35 meteres out in front of goal, THE WORLD GAME IS WAY BETTER THAN AFL
