Aston Villa 2007/2008 Home Kit
Aston Villa may not have officially unveiled their 2007/2008 home kit, but a very authentic-looking pic is already doing the rounds.
The kit is claret with blue sleeves and trimming, the Nike swoosh on the right and the new Aston Villa crest on the left. 32Red.com are the sponsors and unlike the Blackburn kits or the West Ham kits the sponsor logo for Aston Villa’s 07/08 kit looks to be quite good.
There are rumours that the away top will be white with claret triming / stripes to mirror the 82 European Cup winning shirt - what is it with clubs this season harping on past glories?
Anyhow, the Aston Villa home kit looks good, hopefully the keeper kit this season will be as cool as last season’s.
Here’s the kit - I’ll update it with official pics once the kit is revealed.

If it’s a fake, it looks very well done and a pretty nice idea for a shirt.
If it’s real, I really like it - relatively simple and what I’d expect from a Villa kit design/colour wise, but in a nice Nike style as well.
In terms of whether the picture is real or fake - I have seen on the official Villa site that the 32Red logo has changed and instead of being as long as last year, they have made it a bit neater/shorter/nicer (instead of having 32Red.com all in one across the front as before, the new logo is as the picture above shows, with the “.com” is underneath)so it could be genuine.
I think there’s a high possibility that this is the real shirt, it definitely would fit with the sneak preview pics, and the style of Nike kits, and overall as a picture, it looks very well done.
If it’s fake, it’s the best looking fake shirt I’ve seen for Villa so far.
I don’t think it’s fake, I have seen a few shots of this shirt now and I believe the official site now has it on display, not sure why we changed the crest, I do think we were missing a trick not having the star for our European win, but the new crest is weak and the star is lost in the design, should of gone back to the round crest with gold star stuck on top leaving no doubts that we are one of only a few English teams to conquer Europe
I’m not sure on the crest either. It’s growing on me, but I just don’t like the crest shape.
I think if I could make one change it would be to have the same shape for the crest outline as last year, but the middle section all as the new design.
Whatever about other clubs harping on about past glories, I think commemorating 25 years since winning the European Cup is a worthwhile exercise don’t you?

No one was disagreeing about commemorating 25 years since winning the European Cup? In fact ‘Jasp’s post seems in favour of it, just not sure on the design of the crest, and though I did not make it clear in my post - I am in favour of it too?
It is true that gareth barry writes on the villa blog iv been on there a few times last season and seen his msgs by the way nice shirt if it is the real deal still tho i would rather see a diffrent logo instead of 32red

The away one is nice with the pin stripes but maybe a few more stripes?
