Ashley and Keegan can’t agree what’s best for Newcastle

The League Managers Association, somewhat of an unofficial mouthpiece for Kevin Keegan post-resignation, have confirmed that talks between Kevin Keegan and Mike Ashley failed to reach ‘a satisfactory conclusion,’ which effectively means that Ashley refused to change the current system and Keegan refused to work in it.

The LMA statement:

“The League Managers Association can confirm that talks to resolve several issues were held today between Kevin Keegan and Mike Ashley of Newcastle United Football Club.

However, the discussion failed to reach a satisfactory conclusion.”

This leaves Newcastle with few options. Chris Hughton will be the caretaker manager for Saturday’s clash with newly promoted Hull, but beyond that Newcastle need to find a new manager, and fast.
