AS Roma president has revealed that Chelsea and Arsenal target Mattia Destro will not leave the Serie A giants in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The transfer window closes on September 1 and the Blues manager Jose Mourinho confirming the West London club will not make further signings after sealing a move for Filipe Luis from Atletico Madrid.

However, Chelsea and Arsenal were reportedly interested in signing Destro, who is valued to be around €25m this summer.  Roma president James Pallotta has put all speculations linking Italian international with a move away from the Serie A outfit to bed.

“We’ve not reached out to anybody. He’s not for sale, it’s completely off the table. I decided that a year ago he wasn’t [for sale],” Pallotta stressed.

“We’ve got a great front line with Destro there. You won’t see any crazy things going on [in the transfer market], that’s for sure.”

The former Real Madrid manager is believed to allow Fernando Torres leave Stamford Bridge before the transfer window shuts on Monday. The Spain international is set to join AC Milan this summer.

Torres’ agent Antonio Sanz said, “A move to AC Milan is a real possibility, the meeting went well.” Should he leave his current employers, Mourinho will be left with Diego Costa and Didier Drogba as the only two recognised strikers in his squad.

The summer signing is currently sidelined with a muscualr injury and Drogba, who is 36 does not have the legs to play week in week out. Should Torres leave, Chelsea need to find a replacement for their £50m man and they need to find a new target after Roma confirmed Destro is not for sale.
