Clichy was signed from Cannes (French 3rd division that time), and for 250K, not on a free and not from AS Monaco.

well for a team that the dooms day merchants were writting of before the season even began the Wenger boys havent done half bad. And the collective team paformances have left every gooner sayin Thierry Who? But Chelsea will need to take a long hard look at themselves only 1 point from 9 against big 4 teams.

Hey, I stand by my comments on Clichy. I’m just relaying what I saw at that game and from others this season. I’m not the only one who feels that way, either. The Sky Sports analyst charged with picking a starting eleven from the Big Four, picked Clichy as his man as well. Then again . . . he did pick Gary Neville (when healthy) as his right-back.

Talking about Arsenal’s defense, you forgot to mention about Bacary Sagna who has been the Premier League’s Underated player of the season till now. It is a revelation to see a new player adapt to Wenger’s style of playing(honestly i feel though it is good on the eyes, it is not without its own demerits) from day one. The small one touch passes and quick runs and precise crosses from the flanks into the box are so natural to him. Either its his natural game(if it is so, full marks to Wenger for spottin him) or he has adapted so well to his team. I feel really bad for Justin Hoyte though. A hard working player(what a match he had against Rovers) Sagna’s tenacity is limiting his chances…………

Yeah after readin your description of Clichy I considered commenting that you were overly biased, until you cam out with this “when faced with a relatively respectable open look at goal, he shies away from challenging the keeper, opting for another pass in a string of one-too-many.”, but still I think Evra’s a better left back
