Arsenal Want To Sign Fab’s Kids
Cesc Fabregas is a wanted kid (as in Wenger’s kids, you know, I thought that was the proper term?) – Real Madrid have beaten themselves black and blue over him and given up, Barcelona continue to be linked (although the Spanish press will play that Catalan card until global warming sinks the Iberian peninsula, or at least the coastal areas) and even yesterday (technically some time earlier this week) they were at it, but this time in an interview with Fab Fab (he’s that good, isn’t he?) on radio.
Cesc, to his credit, diplomatically talked about what he thinks of (only about winning many titles with Arsenal), which would have been funny last season but will today be taken as vindication for Arsenal’s recent efforts on the pitch.
What’s interesting though is that he talked about how ‘Arsenal are interested in renegotiating his deal that currently runs to 2014. Is this because of the Webster ruling, or is it because they want to pay him megabucks just because Wenger pinched his pennies and now they have extra money to spend on wages? I don’t think that Fab’s the sort of lad who’d run after money, do you?
Or could it be that their contract involved an option not dissimilar to what Casillas and Raul have just signed with Real Madrid?
My second best guess is that if there is going to be a renegotiation it will happen at the end of this season, and is more motivated by the Webster ruling than anything else.
My best guess is that Arsenal want to breed Fabregas and mass-produce an army of lil Cescs to join the Arsenal academy. Stranger things might happen – it’s not that outlandish to consider ‘breeding’ athletes, now is it?

February 14th, 2008 @ 22:53Whats Man U doing with C Ronaldo anyway?
February 15th, 2008 @ 02:46Honestly I cant understand the obsession for anything Arsenal, among Manure players, Manure manager(who we refer to as Demento) and the Manure fans. Everyday there will be something about how the title is still on, Arsenal will choke(since they sound overconfident), Manure play better football than Arsenal(even Giggs has jumped into the bandwagon), Vidic will stop Adebayor blah blah blah………..
Get a life people………………
iqnadirshah, I too cannot understand this, just as much as I cannot understand your obsession with anything Ronaldo.
I have to admit, I were one of those who claimed Arse don’t have the experience and were overconfident. Sadly, I were made to eat my words. I now realise that they do have a real shot at the title (but still believe they are a bit arrogant).
Let’s talk on Monday!
(Btw, show some respect for your current champions, please. We deserve it.)
February 15th, 2008 @ 08:05Karl:
February 15th, 2008 @ 10:59-dont demand respect, if you deserve it, it will naturally come along
-maybe I’m obsessesed about C Ronaldo(thats only one human being), but the entire Manure brigade is after Arsenal, Why?
-yes we’ll see on Monday. But to be very honest, I’d be surprised if any of these players feature tomorrow: Adebayor, Fabregas, Clichy, Sagna(and i sincerely hope they dont play also, take it as an execuse if you want)
-Do we seem arrogant? Sorry, our team didnt fly out to another continent to play a needless friendly inbetween the season and that too just before a match that was so important considering the club’s history. Who’s antics look arrogant now? And where were your manager this week? In South Africa to promote the next pre-season matches…..Incredible(Arrogance?!)
None of us expected to be here at this point, so we just enjoy it. Bear with it……………
Karl –
I can tell you right now i really don’t care about the FA cup round tomorrow. Sure its against Man Utd, sure its a great rivalry, sure we’ll have certain Man Utd fans asking for ‘respect’ from us by fielding our best team against them but i really don’t give a shit about all this crap.
I expect/hope that Wenger will rest key players in time for next week’s important match-up against AC Milan just because, well golly-gosh-darn it, they’re just waaaay better than Man Utd & we can’t take things like that lightly. We lose 2-1 or 10-0 to Man Utd tomorrow is a small price to pay if we can beat Milan convincingly instead.
Also, a Man Utd fan calling us arrogant? That’s a laugh-&-a-half.
February 15th, 2008 @ 11:36spiralarchitect, to say you ain’t bothered about the FA Cup is arrogance in itself. I suppose you didn’t mind getting smashed by Spurs in the Carling cup either. Yeah right. When was the last time you won any trophy?
iqnadirshah, the obsession you go on about is in the arse’s heads. ARSEN’sHoles are nothing to UTD, you are not our great rivals, you are a team that wins something every now and again. Wenger (whom is refered to as peado by the way) was the arrogant one when he thoght his team of second string of bandits were going to beat Spurs in the cup, outclassed and fortunate to get the draw; Playing half the senior team in the second leg was his arrogance yet again, this time many of his senior members took the bashing.
February 15th, 2008 @ 13:22RedDevil –
Yes it was annoying, to say the least, to lose 5-1 to Spurs in the Carling Cup. Beat them twice in the League this season (oh yeah you dropped points against them didn’t you? tsk tsk) & this is their first win against us in any competition in 9 years. So hats off to them, i don’t begrudge how they played or their success. They were great that night, we were shite. If you wanna talk about arrogance in not playing your best team in such an event, then i think its been seen & said umpteen times that Wenger’s strategy is blooding young talent in these games (which has paid off for him more often than not). So here you’re just rehashing an old argument that we really don’t give a shit about.
To answer your question, the last time we won a trophy was when we beat Man Utd in the FA Cup final in 2005 (note to self: bitch slap #1).
Ok, we’re not your great rivals (whatever). Who are your great rivals anyway? Man City? Oooooh, lost to them twice this season didn’t you? Tsk tsk (that’s bitch slap #2).
I like the maturity you show when you keep calling Wenger a paedophile. Just shows the class of Man Utd fans eh? Everyone’s been doing that for years & years (so get in line) & its really white noise now (aka don’t give a shit).
In essence, EVERYONE knows that the order of prestige for trophies is –
1.Premiership/Champions League
2.FA Cup
3.League Cup
That’s the way i view it, that’s the way most fans of any top flight team view it & that’s they way EVERY top flight manager (especially the top 4 clubs) view it. Anyone who thinks otherwise is in the minority/lying. You may have your own opinion, that’s fine. This is my opinion, so piss off. (is that bitch slap #3? I can’t tell).
Still calling me arrogant? Fine, whatever floats your boat. I give credit where credit is due & i criticise where i feel its needed (including myself). But mate, seriously, rethink the vitriol you just spewed & have a nice cup of shut-the-fuck-up, mmmmk?
February 15th, 2008 @ 16:07The Fa Cup is a mjor Trophy!! you are being “arrogant” if you have no respect for such a great competition. Arsenal would be completely stupid to throw away the Fa Cup for a rest! The best teams hunger for every trophy and want to win every match
February 15th, 2008 @ 16:28Liverpool_Fan –
Is this the exact same ‘hunger’ that has helped Liverpool win other trophies but never a League title in the last 18 odd years? Tell me honestly, if you had a choice between the FA Cup & the Premiership what the fuck would you take?
Yes, the FA Cup is a great competition & if you read again what i wrote, you will see i did not denigrate it in any way. There are some competitions that are more important than it though, & i know you’re not telling me that you’d rather have won the FA Cup in 2005 than the Champions League trophy…or are you?
Anyway, this whole line of argument is irrelevant at the moment as it seems that Wenger’s options are limited due to our injuries list. So you’ll probably see (more or less) a first team line up. Is everyone satisfied now?
February 15th, 2008 @ 17:21Im just saying id rather win the fa cup than get to the champions league quarter finals
February 15th, 2008 @ 22:12So in essence you ARE saying you’d rather Liverpool had won the FA Cup than the Champions League trophy in 2005? Have i got that right?
If that’s your opinion, that’s fine. I’m just stating mine.
February 16th, 2008 @ 00:54Liverpool fan, I see your point, but we do have as many as 11 players injured and I would be shocked if Wenger played some of the important ones. Nobody considers the FA cup as a minor trophy, but on the wishlist, its definitely behind the Premier League and the CL trophies, thats all.
