Arsenal vs Bolton - bravado, Henry, Kroenke, Myles and a lot of love

Written by Ahmed Bilal. Tagged: Arsenal

Arsenal’s season has reached a point where instead of making fun of them, you start pitying them.

So when Wenger says that he doesn’t fear a challenge from Bolton for 4th place, you have to shake your head and wonder what Wenger is trying - this is not the time for bravado, it’s the time to bust chops on the training ground, ignore the media for a while, dig deep and get that siege mentality going.

I like Bolton mainly because of Kevin Nolan, so I’d like to see them win against Arsenal. In the grand scheme of things, I really couldn’t be bothered.

Arsenal’s season is over and they need to go away in the summer and rebuild. Bolton have done well this season but they know that they lack in defence (and need another player in midfield as well) and they have plenty of rebuilding to do as well.

Who will win? My money’s on Arsenal, but if this season has to really implode, Arsenal will probably lose their second consecutive game at the Emirates.

Then again, Arsenal need to start winning again so they can beat Chelsea :)

On a side note, why is Henry staying at Arsenal? Arsenal made a mistake last season in not selling them, and the last season has taken 10m of his asking price. Next summer, he might lose another 5m of his price.

A 10m in one season, with nothing to show for it - how does Wenger justify that?

Continuing on the Arsenal coverage, here’s a look at Stanley Kroenke from the Guardian Sports Blog.

And Myles Palmer is now Wenger’s greatest critic. What did they say about hate? Someone you love but no longer believe in?

Poor Myles, poor Arsenal.

  1. Why didn’t Wenger sell Henry? Possibly he felt a sense of loyalty to his captain and striker who has so often in the past lifted Arsenal to victory. Perhaps in the case of a star like Henry money is not always the bottom line. Loyalty…maybe…but I doubt it, we are talking about the football world.

  2. Arsenal are playing very poorly right now - as witnessed at Newcastle on Saturday - where Wenger was apparently happy with a point(?). One point from last 4 league games.
Bolton have a good chance to finish 4th - and that would be good for the Premiership - so we break the hold on the top 4 teams of ManU, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.

  3. Henry wasn’t sold because you don’t sell your best players, especially strikers who CAN score goals!

    Idiot!

…Wenger has made mistakes this season, he has shown too much faith in some players, not enough in others and he seems too preoccupied with wanting win without the need to buy ‘finished articles’, instaed relying on the Yute!

Arsenal will finish 4th (or possibly 3rd)and then they can write off this season and Wengwer can start earning his momey and the huge rep he still has (for some reason!)

  4. A 10m in one season, with nothing to show for it - how does Wenger justify that?

By having one of the best strikers in the world. £10m in the bank doesn’t score goals.

  5. No it doesn’t.

But when your team desperately needs reinforcements, 30m will fetch you 3-4 experienced players. Arsenal could have done with selling Henry and bringing in 1-2 strikers, a midfielder and a defender.

  6. Idiot!

Instead of selling Hennry - whom if you have forgot has finished top scored in the prem more times than not and is Arsenal’s record breaking goal scorer - in a lot shorter time than Wright achieved the same feat. Wenger signed him on a long term contract. Increasing his value if anything.

As for Myles Palmer - what used to be a decent website has now dived in to the relms of the ‘Headline makers’ with little information and obsured remarks designed only to cause offense.

Sack Wenger! what an idiot - anyone with half a brian can see that is not the answer - although it has been a disapointing season - we have still played some of the best football in Europe at times and having your two top strikers out for the majority of a season will have some effect on any team.

There are 5 - 6 games left of this disapointing season and the last thing we need is to get on the team’s back when there is so much to play for.

The Squad has alot to offer next season - some are not up to the challenge but the majority are. Give them support not grief.
