The big game on Monday sees Arsenal play host to Sunderland and it’s the Gunners who have to be the bet at 1.5.

Arsene Wenger’s men put up a fantastic effort to beat AC Milan in the second leg of their Champions League tie, and were unlucky to be knocked out 4-3 on aggregate having dominated proceedings.

Before that they had notched convincing 5-2 home win over Spurs and a terrific 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield and if carrying on the same vein should be too strong for the Magpies.

Alan Pardew’s men seem to be running out of steam at a crucial stage of the season and are struggling to score goals.

They did manage to come from 4-0 down in this corresponding fixture to share the spoils, but I don’t expect the Gunners to make the same mistake twice and if they get a lead then they will surely finish the job off this time round.

As far as the stats are concerned Newcastle have won just two of their last 18 Premier League games against Arsenal, but have won one and drawn two of the last three.

Arsenal have, however, won nine of their last 12 Premier League home games and lost just one are are definitely the form side coming into this

Robin van Persie has scored four goals in his last five games against Newcastle and 43 in his last 44 Premier League matches.

The Dutchman has also scored 21 goals in his last 20 Premier League games at the Emirates, including 14 in the last 11.

Backing him to score anytime has been a licence to print money this season, and  backing him to do so again at 1.67 with bet365 looks a rock solid punt.
