Arsenal are well aware they need to add a striker within their ranks to get the Premier League trophy that has evaded them for so long and have identified Juventus’ Alvaro Morata as the player.

The Spanish striker is seeking an exit and has been offered to a number of Europe’s top clubs.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with the player, while Manchester City and Liverpool have also “shown interest”.

According to Sport, the Gunners are irked with Real Madrid and the snail pace at which they’re moving. Arsenal have already made contact with Real Madrid as well as Morata’s agent and shown interest. But Real Madrid, who have a buy-back clause which they could activate before selling him on at a profit, are in no rush to sell as they are well aware they can make a good profit on the player.

Florentino Perez has the ability to get the player back for £25m, and then ask for £40m from potential suitors.

Arsenal are worried that Real Madrid’s delayed actions could enable clubs like Manchester United to actively get in the frame and make a better bid.

With the devastating news that Danny Welbeck will be ruled out for nine months because of a knee injury, Arsenal wanting to wrap up a deal for Morata quickly makes perfect sense.
