Arsenal are edging ever closer to signing Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid after the player and his agent father Jorge are believed to have agreed personal terms with the North London club.

The Gunners are not only prepared to break the club’s transfer record, estimated to be around £22 million; they are also likely to break the wage structure of the club making it an exception for the Argentina international.

According to reports from The Metro, Arsenal will offer Higuain in excess of £130,000-a-week. Italian giants Juventus were also interested in signing him, but the Bianconeri refused to match Madrid’s valuation and are now more likely to land Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic.

Nicklas Bendtner insisted nearly a week ago that he wants to leave Arsenal permanently as he admitted that regular games would hard to come by for him.

The Danish striker, who has become surplus to requirements at Arsenal, has a year left on his contract and spent the last two seasons on loan at Sunderland and Juventus respectively.

Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in signing the 25-year-old and it is to be seen whether the deal materializes or not. Heribert Buch Hagen, the club’s manager recently stated that they were talking seriously with the player over a possible move.

Laurent Koscielny is one of the several defender Barcelona have set their sights on, but Serie A outfit Napoli may join the race too for the £15 million rated Frenchman, according to reports from The Express.

Napoli will only press hard for the former Lorient defender if any potential buyer matches their valuation of £53 milion for striker Edinson Cavani. The 27-year-old centre back, who criticised the club for showing lack of ambitions, is also targeted by Bayern Munich.

The Gunners have made a preliminary check for Levante’s right winger Ruben Garcia. The 19-year-old is considering a move to a club that can provide him Champions League football and recently admitted in an interview that he would be “interested in joining Arsenal”.

With a hefty £70 million transfer kitty available, Arsenal probably won’t be deterred from making a bid to trigger Garcia’s release clause of £8.5 million.

Olympiacos are looking to snap up a deal for Arsenal’s Tomas Rosicky and are willing to pay £2 million for the midfielder, who has one year remaining on his contract.

The Greek champions are preparing a three-year-deal for the 32-year-old, as per reports from talkSPORT, but the potential swoop might not materialize as Rosicky’s wife is due to give birth soon.

Finally, Gervinho insists that he would not struggle to find a new club if he leaves Arsenal and hinted a possible move to Ligue 1 club Marseille. The Ivory Coast midfielder managed just 12 Premier League starts last season and is expected to leave the club.

Arsenal spent £10.5 million on the 26-year-old when he arrived from Lille in 2011 and Arsene Wenger is looking to recoup as much of that fee as possible.
