Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed striker Alvaro Morata could leave the club in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a massive boost in signing the Spaniard this summer. Earlier we reported the Gunners were closing in on signing Morata, while The Independent claims the Emirates club’s neighbours, Spurs are also interested in signing him.

The former AC Milan and Chelsea manager admitted the striker could leave the UEFA Champions League winners as Morata is eyeing for more playing time.

“The players wants to play more minutes and the club agrees. If he could find the chance of playing it would be good that he had the chance for a year. If Morata goes then we’ll have to think about signing a similar striker with the same characteristics, a youngster,” Ancelotti told Marca.

The news could come as a boost for Arsenal and Tottenham as both clubs are looking to strengthen their attacking division next season. The Gunners will allow their striker Nicklas Bendtner leave the club on a free transfer this summer once his contract expires on June 30.

The potential departure of the Denmark international will leave Arsene Wenger with Olivier Giroud and Yaya Sanogo as the only first choice strikers in the squad. The addition of Morata will not only add value to Arsenal’s squad, but it will bolster their attacking division.

Meanwhile, the White Hart Lane club allowed their striker Jermain Defoe join Toronto FC in February, leaving Spurs with Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado as the only two recognised strikers. However, the latter has struggled to find goals in his debut season in the Premier League.

A move from Arsenal or Tottenham for Morata will only strengthen their strike force for the new seasons. According to Marca, the striker has set his sights on making a switch to England in the upcoming transfer window.
