Mickey – the point? Arsenal have already lost five games when their toughest away day has been Fulham, who are 9th. If the Arsenal situation, with Gallas and their defeats, appears to mean they are ‘in crisis’, imagine where they will be once they’ve travelled to Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge, Anfield, Villa Park, Goodison Park etc.

They have had the easiest fixtures out of all the ‘top 4′, yet are in the worst position.

Even if the League title is out of reach, who says Arsenal can’t win the Carling Cup or the FA Cup? And there is also the Champions League. Fabregas was captain in today’s win which qualifies them for the next round.

Unless this article is an entry into the Statement Of The Obvious awards, I don’t see the point. Yes, Gallas has temperament issues. Yes, Arsenal are in crisis. Cutting analysis. The writer sounds like a rival fan who is, given the length of the piece and lack of substance, too eager to kick a rival club when it’s down. Too bad I can’t have these ten minutes back.

p.s. Before the ad hominum attacks commence, I’m a United fan of 11 years.

To be fair to Gallas,he had an exceptional passion for victory,however instead of being stripped pf the captainship,he could have been lecture and corrected.Arsenal will end up to know that there is no perfect person especially with an inexperience new captain.

Arsenal will finish fourth comfortably i think because Villa are quite similar to Everton last season, Everton didnt have the squad to keep up a full 38 games and i think the same will apply for Villa.

This next run of games will be extremely testing of Arsenal and you know what its like with a team of kids, if they beat Chelsea they will have new believe that Fabragaes will take them to glory, if they lose, their heads drop.

To make him captain in the first place was a huge error in judgement. After the acrimonious departure from Chelsea and the public slanging match in the press it was clear that Gallas was too emotional and unbalanced to captain any side, and so it has proved.

You can only surmise that, with so many young and inexperienced players, Wenger felt he had little choice. And that is the crux of Arsenal’s problem….no experience, no seasoned pro’s, no players who have been there for years and are Arsenal thru and thru, no leadership in the dressing room and team disharmony as a result.

Wenger has pursued his idealistic dream, his ego massaged by the press swooning over the ‘potential’ and ‘beautiful’ football and it the process has lost the plot. Most Arsenal fans now realise this.

Finishing outside the top 4, which I now think is very likely, could be the kiss of death for Wenger…and that will be a genuine shame.
