Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson targeted by West Ham and Hull City

jenkinson Arsenal player with no future heading for Emirates exitArsenal defender Carl Jenkinson could be one of the few players to leave the Emirates in the summer transfer window.

Last season, the Gunners had Bacary Sagna as the first choice right-back in the squad, with Jenkinson playing second fiddle to him. However, the French international has left the club on a free transfer and completed his switch to Manchester City.

With Sagna’s departure, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has signed his compatriot Mathieu Debuchy to replace Sagna. Meanwhile, the North London further added another player as Wenger signed Calum Chambers from Southampton.

The 19-year-old can play in multiple positions and that includes the right-back position. With Debuchy and Chambers, Jenkinson has dropped further down the pecking order.

According to The Times, Jenkinson could leave the Emirates this summer, but only for a season-long loan. Premier League outfit West Ham United are keen on signing the defender on-loan for the next season.

However, the London club could face competition from Hull City in taking Jenkinson on loan. The Times says the English player has no future at the Emirates. He could leave the club temporarily and hope to impress during his time on loan away from Arsenal.

With Debuchy at 29, he is likely to have a few more years at the top and Arsenal need to find a replacement. In addition to this, Chambers can be deployed as a central defender and that could leave Jenkinson to be a part of Arsenal’s first team.

This is just a possibility and it should be seen if Jenkinson will be at the Emirates or not beyond the summer transfer window. And should he leave, will it be on-loan or on a permanent move.
