Liverpool have rejected a reported £30 million offer from Arsenal for star striker Luis Suarez and remain adamant that they would not consider an offer for their top player from any Premier League rival clubs.

The 26-year-old dropped a clanger last month, voicing his dislike towards the treatment by the English media and further hinted of his desire to ply his trade with one of the world’s biggest club, Real Madrid in several interviews.

While, it was expected that Madrid would come up with a handsome offer for him after the Confederations Cup, but as it stands, nothing has materialized from either ends.

Liverpool meanwhile have given an ultimatum to the Uruguayan that he will have to sort out his future within three weeks’ time, lest, he will have to forget about other greener pastures and commit his present to the Anfield club.

It was reported last week that both London clubs, Arsenal and Chelsea were interested in signing him, but it was the Gunners that made the first approach officially for Suarez, who has three years remaining on an improved contract he signed last summer.

Suarez, who has been given an extended holiday break, after his involvement in the Confederations Cup, won’t return at the club until 22nd July and then he is expected to join the squad for tour matches in Australia and Thailand.

Whether Suarez plays for the Merseyside outfit next season remains to be seen. However, what is certain is that Liverpool will try their level best to persuade the gifted Uruguayan to give the Reds another chance of making it to the Champions League.

Suarez, who has been a joy to watch since his arrival from Ajax, has been subject to numerous controversies for the last couple of seasons. The club and the fans, who have stood beside the player with unparalleled support and loyalty, expect that he will honour and reward them by extending his stay at Anfield.
