Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that winger Alex Oxlade Chamberlain will miss actions up to three to four weeks due to hamstring injury.

The 21-year-old suffered the injury during Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the quarter finals of the FA Cup.

Wenger is largely frustrated for losing out an important player at this stage of the season, told the reporters:  “It’s frustrating for him but he’s played more games this season than before. He’s shown his importance.”

The England international is certain to miss Arsenal’s tie with West Ham this Saturday. He would also miss England’s international friendlies Arsenal’s crucial Champions League tie away to Monaco.

Wenger will also be without midfielder Jack Wilshere, who has yet to recover fully from the ankle injury.

Wilshere is certain to miss England’s international fixtures against Lithuania and Italy and Wenger has refused to put a deadline on his return.

“It’s very difficult to say when he will be back,” said Wenger. “We have to respect his recovery.”

Wilshere hasn’t played since Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United back in November and will miss Arsenal’s crucial games in the later stages of the season.
