Arsenal should be favourites to beat Chelsea for €20m Striker in January

Quality strikers are in demand in the transfer market these days, therefore all eyes will be on Spanish star Fernando Llorente, whose future has been strongly speculated in the media and is heavily linked with a move to English clubs Chelsea and Arsenal.

According to latest reports from the Daily Mail, The Gunners are plotting a move for the tall striker, who has become a sort-of-outcast at Juventus. The Londoners have discussed the possibility of a January loan move for the 28-year-old as Arsene Wenger wants to bolster his attacking department in order to mount a serious challenge for the Premiership title.

The Gunners were linked with several top strikers in the summer like Gonzalo Higuain, Karim Benzema and Luis Suarez, but have failed to land any of them. They are left with Olivier Giroud as the lone striker at the club and therefore Wenger would be desperate to land at least one quality forward in January.

Llorente is enduring a tough time at Juventus and has only started two league games this season. And if the same scenario continues, his dreams of bagging a place for the World Cups will be all but a day dream and history. Therefore, he would be looking to clutch at all the possible straws presented before him.

According to the reliable, Llorente would cost around €20m but Arsenal are looking to exploit his situation by striking a temporary deal with Juve for the striker. In any case, if the former Athleic Bilbao star turns out to be a hit, Wenger can do a business to take him on a permanent basis.

Chelsea are also thought to be interested in his signature as Jose Mourinho is also looking to bolster his attacking options, but it is understood that the Blues have shifted their target to Galatasaray goal-machine Burak Yilmaz to solve their woes.

Llorente is a class player, who somehow has failed to reproduce his golden form of Bilbao with the Turin giants. Wenger in a way is taking a gamble here, but a gamble very much worth taking.
