Ahmed, I totally agree on the RVN side of the entry. RVN would have fitted in the team and we’d have scored more.
When RVN left, it was a typical SAF-class player with a loud voice situation.

Just like in the case of Stam and Becks. Although I can see SAF’s argument: Old Trafford is ManU and not one player, I believe Ferguson’s contact with real heroes is his weakness. Especially if they have a voice.
And no matter what, RVN is deadly in every team. Just check his record. Just see how quickly he settled in in a struggling Real.

And I fear that with time, both Roon and Ronnie will be confronted with the same problem: SAF.
Now their father, in some years sadly their enemy because of his attitude, that ManU SAF is.

As for the commenter who said that Ruud’s track against top squads poorly is… please check RVN’s Champions League record.

these comments are pretty much proveing Ahmed right. All poeple are doing is slagging of Henry and Ruud and trying to justify why they have now decided to turn thier backs on two players who did all they could for the cause.

Im a gooner through and through. im heartbroken that Thierry is finally leaving but also glad that he is going as he did seem unhappy with the club, particually with Deins departure.

But that has no barring at all on my appreciation and respect for the man. There is no way we can ever pay him back for things he has done for us. I hope he is a big success at Barca. I wish more Gooners out there would be more greatful for the magic he has cast over north london for the last 8 or so years.

and if we happen to get drawn against Barca in Europe, i will be singing his name from the terraces when he returns to the Emirates as loud and proud as i can. ( as long as he doesnt score)……..

have too agree with Chancre on that point about the price tag, it is abit off a joke. but that’s football i guess.
on ruud, i remember when beckham left ruud seemed to suffer abit with the crossing from beckham as it suited him down to the ground…. with beckham gone from real madrid now i will be watching very closely on how he will get on there next year, it the goals flow as easy as this year.

I have just heard that arsenal have agreed a fee with barca for henry for Â£16m (coming from barca). I believe this to be true, but am very upset and annoyed by this because henry’s one of the best forwards in the world and a leader and at only Â£16m is a joke, considering players such as darren bent have prices of Â£18m or more. Not only this but henry has 3 years still left on his contract so we don’t need to cash in on him, arsenal have made a big mistake if this is true and i am not happy at all.

Morountodun, Henry normally does perform in the big games for Arsenal! e.g. man utd this season… any time henry doesn’t perform in the big games for Arsenal is because Arsenal aren’t good enough against the big teams any more. And for Frnace he is just not very good, not only in the big games, the small games too… But really overall i don’t think most Arsenal fans want Henry to leave, or that many fans wanted Ruud to leave, its just that after so much speculation fans begin to wonder if they will leave, everyone at United loved Ruud, and after he left it worked out for the best for both Utd and himself…But henryis definitely a more vital player to Arsenal than Van Nistlerooy was to Man u, Arsenal are starting to become a 2 man team… if Henry leaves they’ll just become a rubbish team =P

henry is a great player
and if he does turn his back on arsenal and join barca or inter, then i wont hate him, he’s done alot for arsenal and people should respect him for that and not turn on him if he leaves.

i will never hate henry
all my arsenal shirts have ‘henry 14′ on the back.

Henry is a fantastic player but there is no excuse that the team falls apart without him. Also outside of the Inter Milan game a few seasons ago he is unable to perform in the big games (world cup and champions league finals). I love Henry to bits but it hurts that he prevaricates about staying when he should be taking a stand ( I am an Arsenal player for now? What does that even mean?). I think its time for him to go.
