Another week of Premier League action, another fascinating round of matches. Chelsea’s defensive frailties were on show again in their 3-0 defeat at Arsenal, and Liverpool made the most of Ahmed Elmohamady’s red card to beat Hull City 5-1 at Anfield. These are the 11 players who made the biggest impact on matchday six.

Artur Boruc (Bournemouth)

Another excellent performance by Boruc in the Bournemouth goal. The Polish ‘keeper had little to do in the match against Everton, but he made a brilliant save to deny Romelu Lukaku, and he looked comfortable whenever called upon.

Hector Bellerin (Arsenal)

Bellerin is probably the fastest player in the Premier League, and his tracking back to deny Pedro was incredible. He continued to be an attacking threat throughout the 90 minutes, and made the most of Eden Hazard’s defensive slackness to set up the Gunners’ second.

Virgil Van Dijk (Southampton)

Since his move to St. Mary’s last summer, van Dijk has been a key man in the Southampton side, and he was brilliant against West Ham. He won almost every ball that came into the box and didn’t give Simone Zaza a sniff all game.

Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)

Diego Costa has regularly been the scourge of Arsenal in the past, and he was in top form going into the game at the Emirates. However Koscielny marked the Spaniard out of the game, playing a huge part in helping Arsenal to their first league win over Chelsea since 2011.

James Milner (Liverpool)

It’s no doubting that Milner isn’t a natural left back, however with Alberto Moreno’s defensive deficiencies, he’s the best man for the job. He has done a decent job since coming into the side, and put in an impressive performance against Hull City, scoring twice from the penalty spot.

Harry Arter (Bournemouth)

With Eddie Howe looking to bring more technically gifted players to the club in recent months, Arter’s physical edge is more important to Bournemouth than ever. He was excellent against Everton on Saturday, and dominated Ross Barkley, winning ten duels as opposed to Barkley’s two.

Paul Pogba (Manchester United)

Easily Pogba’s best game since his return to Old Trafford. Comfortably the best player on the park in the first half, controlling the midfield, and adding his first goal since his world-record move to United.

Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)

It has been said at times that Ozil doesn’t turn up for the big matches, but this wasn’t the case on Saturday against Chelsea. The German ran the show in the first half at the Emirates, volleying in the third goal to practically finish the game as a contest.

Heung-Min Son (Tottenham)

It’s been quite a change of fortunes for the South Korean. It seemed inevitable he would leave White Hart Lane in the summer after a difficult first campaign in the Premier League, but he has been fantastic this season. He scored two brilliant goals against Middlesbrough at the weekend, and has already matched last year’s tally of four goals.

Charlie Austin (Southampton)

What a couple of weeks it has been for this man. Five goals in four games in all competitions since his return to the side, and he made the difference in their win against West Ham. He scored the first with a trademark finish in the area, before excellently setting up Dusan Tadic to double his side’s lead.

Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

The Argentinean is simply in the form of his life. He already has 11 goals in all competitions this season, and that’s despite a three-game ban. He was back at his best against Swansea, opening the scoring before his outrageous panenka penalty restored City’s lead.
