Arsene-Wenger-angryArsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has revealed the Gunners are in talks with a number of targets and is confident the club will add players to their squad this summer.

The Telegraph reported the North London club will hand their manager Arsene Wenger a £100m transfer kitty in order to strengthen Arsenal’s squad in the summer transfer window. A host of players are linked with a move to the Emirates in recent times.

Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier has publicly expressed his desire to join the Gunners, while Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata has been on Wenger’s radar for a long time. However, Gazidis refused to give out any information on the club’s specific targets.

“Transfers are obviously important and we are deep in conversations already. I am confident we will add what we need this summer,” Sky Sports quoted Gazidis as saying.

“The manager is not scared to spend, has the experience, but as always will have to juggle a set budget.”

“We are all really pleased with securing Champions League qualification again. Last season was a great experience for players to win the FA Cup and now we want more,” he added.

Meanwhile, Wenger’s situation at the Emirates was uncertain, despite winning the FA Cup last month as his contract with the club was set to expire on June 30. However, the Frenchman committed his future to Arsenal after signing a new deal.

Gazidis believes Wenger would be impossible to replace for the Gunners.

“Arsene is impossible to replace. He has given us the footballing philosophy we have now. Arsene’s legacy is based on him wanting to take Arsenal to the next level, and everything he did and still does is for the future of the club,” Gazidis concluded.

With the Gunners chief executive’s latest comments, it would bring a lot of joy to Arsenal fans. Their direct rivals Liverpool have already confirmed the signing of Emre Can and Rickie Lambert, while Chelsea are closing on Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa and Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabergas.

The Emirates club’s fans would be hoping that Wenger would bring in a world class striker in the summer transfer window, which will bolster their chances of winning the Premier League title next season.
