Arsenal + Chelsea target still to decide future

Sami Khedira

Sami Khedira

The future of Arsenal and Chelsea transfer target Sami Khedira still remains in the balance.

Khedira’s contract is still due to expire in June 2015 and no new contract has been agreed.  If the 2014 World Cup winner does not sign a new deal before the new year he is free to discuss with new clubs in January over a free transfer move next summer.

Spanish newspaper Marca reported on Tuesday that the German international turned up for the club’s official team photo last Thursday but did not mention what plans he has for the future.

Sami Khedira has not had a chance to play this season due to injuries but the 27-year old is due back from injury after this month’s international break.

Marca went on to report that the Real Madrid board have not been in touch with Khedira’s agent since during the World Cup when the player rejected the club’s offer of a new contract.  He wants a bigger contract then the 2014 UEFA Champions League winners are prepared to offer.

The Real Madrid board are convinced that their midfielder has not agreed or signed anything with Premier League side Arsenal, or any other club and that he will not do so without telling his owners first…
