Thanks Fiona for your kind comment. I respect your views but I did see the whole match and stand by my comments on the performances of Senderos and Diaby. Senderos did mark Owen well but to me he shows a bit of slackness when it comes to setpieces and it is a result of lack of first team appearances.

I'm sorry, I don't wish to be harsh, but did you actually watch the match or did you just catch some highlights on TV?

Senderos had a fantastic game at the back. He dominated everything in the air and positionally played it just right - never allowing Owen to get away off the shoulder and knowing exactly when to play offside.

Because he's a young defender playing very high profile matches at a much earlier stage of his career than his contemporaries at other clubs, his mistakes are consequently very public ones. But it is just lazy journalism to label him as some sort of Titus Bramble.

Senderos and Toure hold the record for the longest run of clean sheets in Champions League history - in case you forget - and you don't do that without being a very, very good player.

I suspect you don't watch Arsenal very regularly if you think Diaby had an impressive game on Saturday. True, he showed flashes of creative inspiration in the first half - but they were all through the centre of midfield. He never looks interested unless he's cutting inside and played totally out of position for most of the first half, cluttering up the space that Fabregas and Flamini need to control the midfield with their usual passing and movement.

Wenger told him at half time to stay out on the left and consequently he had a much quieter second half, but from the team's point of view it released Fabregas and Flamini to exert more of their normal influence on the game.

I love glowing words about Arsenal, don't get me wrong. But really as fans of the team and journalists too shouldn't we stop calling the first string young? Compare the ages to that of ManU. No one seems to care how old they are there. Lets break from the label that makes us look like A. We are over achieving for such a young group (when we win) or B. a team that is succumbing to the inexperience of the team (when we lose).
Our team is pretty good, full stop.
