I think a lot of people don’t take time to appreciate women’s sport because it is the cultural norm to put it down and feel “above” it. “Yes, yes, let the girls have their team *sigh*” But I know for sure than in women’s college basketball in the US, it’s a far, far better game…played by athletes and not showboaters looking for a big money contract!

Nicely written Kris, astute observations on a section of the sport that’s woefully under-appreciated. Hopefully in the future, women’s footie, (as well as footie in general in the USA) will get the appreciation and respect it deserves.

I watched the game yesterday not scrappy long ball football, unlike the U.S i do not think there will ever be that much demand for women’s football in a country where Men’s football is so established.
