Arsenal and the Emirates is ready - Here come the Russians!!
For many, the first experience of that shiny new stadium called The Emirates brings across a feeling of awe. For supporters it exhibits pride in what our football club has achieved as well as anticipation for what the future may bring.
But what of away supporters and teams? Speaking to a mate of mine who was there to watch the Spuds get mauled he said there was an unfamiliar feeling of not knowing what he should be feeling. No doubt that uncertainty was dealt with come 90 minutes.
We all said at the beginning of the season that the stadium cried out for some history. Well the nicest bit of history we could have asked for would have been to go a season unbeaten at home, but that ended thanks to the Hammers. Too many draws and that one unexpected loss have marred Arsenal’s first season at home, but it’s not a complete loss. We qualified for Europe again and have definitely improved on last season…slightly.
So can we call our amazing 2-1 comeback victory over the likely new champions as our highlight for the new stadium? It is definitely right up there, but for me our most important chapter is about to be written. Chelsea will visit the Emirates for the first time and stand the possibility of officially loosing their title on Arsenal’s home turf. I don’t know about the rest, but that alone would somehow make the season a little easier to bear.
Arsenal will have a say in the title race come Sunday. I just hope the Russians first memory of the Emirates is a good one, for me that is!

Hahaha! The Russians…hilarious! And in response to Gooner regarding Man U, yes Arsenal have done brilliantly this season! So brilliant they’re the only team of the “Big 4″ not playing for a single trophy come end of season
in my opinion Arsenal have been poor for the first half of the season and was beginning to wonder if they’d get a Champions League place, but gradually they’ve turned it around and i commend them on that.
Although as a Man Utd fan im not too fond of the Arse but this season…i’ve grown a liking to many of there young stars and obviously have a bright future. i would be very pleased and gracious towards them if they helped us with the Premiership with a victory or a draw over the West London Blues.
