According to ‘talkSport‘, Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in Hamburg talent Hakan Calhanoglu, with the player set to leave the Bundesliga this summer if his side are relegated.

Calhanoglu, 20, has hit the headlines recently after scoring some of the most extraordinary goals of the season so far.

An absurdly gifted set-piece taker, the Turkish attacker has lit up what has been otherwise a lackluster season for Hamburg, and despite his individual brilliance, the German side find themselves only a point above the relegation zone.

Arsenal, Liverpool, and an unnamed Premier League side are said to be watching with interest, with Hamburg reportedly slapping an £18m price-tag on the player’s head.

‘TalkSport’ reckon the Bundesliga side are attempting to start a bidding war in the summer, if relegation does force them to sell their prized asset.

Calhanoglu was likened to Arsenal star Mesut Ozil by Winfried Schafer, the now Jamaican head coach and former Karlsruher midfielder, with the German insisting the attacker has all the attributes needed to become one world’s top performers.

What do you think? Impressed with his goals? Who would suit him more, Liverpool or Arsenal? Let me know in the comments below…
