Fierce rivals Argentina and Brazil go head to head in a high octane clash this Friday.

Both teams have made a disappointing start to their World Cup qualifiers and will be looking to pile further pressure on their rivals with a win at Buenos Aires.

Argentina are yet to win a single game in the qualifiers after their defeat against Ecuador and a draw against Paraguay. Meanwhile Brazil have won their last game against Venezuela after a humiliating defeat against Chile in the opening game.

Hosts Argentina are currently struggling without their main man Lionel Messi and crashed to a shock 2-0 defeat in their first game against Ecuador. The World Cup and Copa America runners up settled for a goalless draw against Paraguay in their next match.

Although Argentina are well equipped going forward with the likes of Tevez and Higuain, the La Albiceleste will miss Sergio Agüero who is also out with a hamstring injury.

Brazil are delighted with the return of their captain and Barcelona superstar Neymar who was suspended for four games by FIFA after his antics against Colombia during this year’s Copa America.

The Seleção have bounced back with a 3-1 win against Venezuela and will be looking to get over the Chile defeat with a win against their arch rivals.

Argentina vs Brazil Team News

Argentina are without the services of Lionel Messi who is still recovering from a torn ligament. Furthermore, the home side will also be without their prolific front man Sergio Aguero. The Manchester City striker is expected to be back in action later this month but is set to sit out the Brazil game with a hamstring injury.

Carlos Tevez is expected to lead the line in the absence of Messi and Aguero.

Meanwhile Brazil are set to rest Fernandinho and Hulk for the game. Thiago Silva still remains an absentee for the national team. The PSG captain has had a rough relationship with Dunga and has been sidelined indefinitely.

Back from injury, David Luiz is expected to partner the Inter Milan defender Miranda at the heart of the defence. The likes of Dante and Marquinhos could be on the bench.
