Former Manchester City and Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez has revealed that Chelsea are interested in signing him this summer.

The Argentine forward joined Boca Juniors from Juventus in 2015 and says that he wishes to stay there despite the interest from Premier League. Recently, West Ham United tried to sign Tevez as well.

According to latest reports, Antonio Conte is looking to sign the former Juventus striker with a deal for Alvaro Morata proving to be difficult.

Conte has worked with Tevez at Juventus and the duo share a great working relationship. Despite the player’s age, Tevez is still good enough to make an impact in the Premier League.

The Argentine striker has made around 276 Premier League appearances for City, West Ham and United and is well aware of the demands of the league. It is likely that Tevez will make an instant impact if he decides to join the Blues and that could be a big factor why Conte has approached him.

It will be interesting to see if Conte can persuade the player to change his decision and join Chelsea now. There is no doubt that he will be an outstanding signing. When on form, Tevez is still one of the best players in the world.

Tevez said: “I’m fine at Boca, actually: my idea, my dream is to finish my career playing for this wonderful club.”

“Yeah, it’s true: Napoli and Chelsea have approached me. But I’ll repeat what I said first: my desire is to stay at Boca until I retire.”

The Blues were looking to sign Morata initially, but it appears that Real Madrid are holding out for a ridiculous fee for the Spanish international.

Chelsea have already signed Batshuayi from Marseille earlier this summer, but the uncertainty surrounding Costa’s future has forced them to look for another striker.
