Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has claimed that Jose Mourinho plays an attractive style of football.

When asked if Mourinho’s style would suit Manchester United, he said: “It’s funny that. You see, Mou played for Chelsea with Cesc, Willian, Oscar, Hazard and Costa. Only Matic as defensive midfielder”.

“Is that not attractive? Or his Madrid scoring record? His Chelsea, with how hard it is, won the Premier well in advance… Yes I have seen Chelsea play well”.

Although it is just the player’s personal opinion, the timing of his interview will fuel further rumours about the Portuguese joining Manchester United soon.

Mourinho has already been linked with the Old Trafford job and the general consensus is that he will take over from Van Gaal at the end of the season.

In this situation, Herrera endorsing Mourinho’s style of play will only add to the speculations surrounding Van Gaal’s future at the club.

Herrera is a massive fan favourite at Old Trafford and although he only expressed his opinion about Mourinho’s playing style when asked by the reporter, his comments are expected to be taken out of context.

Van Gaal is already under a lot of pressure from the fans and the media due to his monotonous playing style and the last thing he needs is his players talking about Jose Mourinho’s supposedly attractive playing style.
