No, no, no! No! Stop the crap right now! I'm sorry, but how can human error be a part of the beauty of the game?! No offense, but that is a really dumb excuse. I for one want the better team to win with goals that are really goals, and if there is a possibility of knowing the truth and preventing injustice, then it must be done. What's the point of rules and fair-play when people score from offside or don't score at all, but the goal is awarded. The point of the game is to score more goals, and not to have more luck with the referee's decisions. In hockey, the ref can just see what has happened and then give a goal if it was one, or not if it wasn't. As simple as that. Why should the football refs be deprived of the right to make the right decision?

Another thing we must also consider when introducing any new technology to the game is being able to employ it all the way down the professional league. Do you not use this technology in all inter league competitions? Does the technology get un-installed from the teams ground if they are relegated? All this tinkering with the beautiful game is annoying, if it isn't broke don't fix it.

I totaly agree with Egyptian gooner...Look at NFL which is a circus for stupid Americans. When there is a challenge the referie stops the game and dramaticly anounces his desicion. I say we should keep it as is and I hope that the experiment will fail. Sometimes you get the error that helps you and sometimes that damages, but that's the life, so just leave it at that.

No I think a part of the beauty of this game is human error. A big part of the game is arguing with your friends " No you idiot that was an offside ". It is these tiny little arguments that make this game even sweeter. So I say no to the Hawk-Eye Technology.

Yeah good points Andrei. I did see some points against Hawk eye even in Tennis. Here's one Thought you might be interested. Although how that might be applied to Football I am not sure.

You do know that Hawk eye was first introduced in Cricket (for television commentators). Although not yet for making decisions.

Good points.

One thing I'd mention - the cost of installing this technology on each ground is around 50k. I'm sure the Prem clubs can afford that.
