Alisher Usmanov Interview Transcript

Written by Ahmed Bilal. Tagged: Arsenal

A quick note to let all you Arsenal fans know that the Guardian interviewed Alisher Usmanov and have now printed the email interview transcript in full here.

It’s a terrible interview, not because of Usmanov’s answers but because of the Guardian’s obsession with finding out about whether the Arsenal shareholder was guilty and especially if there were rape charges brought against him. The need to go after a juicy story is understandable but the Guardian lost a golden opportunity to tell their readers (and especially Arsenal fans) what Usmanov had in store for Arsenal.

As things stand, all we have are accusations from one side and denials from the other, and the truth, as usual, is unclear. Like it or not, the world is not as black and white as the Guardian would like to paint, and the greater need is to find out whether Usmanov is a good prospect for Arsenal or not (whether as owner or just as shareholder). Peter Hill-Wood doesn’t know (the way he didn’t know squat about Stan Kroenke), and if all people are going to know about Usmanov is anti-takeover venom from Arsenal blogs then it’s a great story, but it’s not the truth.

So…the big question is - where are the facts? Feel free to link to sources in the comments below.

  1. The bottom line is we do not need self serving billionaire to take over Arsenal and suck dry the club eventually like inevitable fate MU are going to endure. This site is rubbish. Can’t you mind your own business?

  2. He has previously admitted his affection for Manure. How the **** does he think we gooners will accept him? He should have gone to Old Trafford, would have felt quite at home with the Glazers………….

The basic fact of the matter is that Arsenal do not need a takeover. Pure and simple. Everything else is crap flying around in the wind. If we were a struggling club like Chelsea before Abramovich bought it, that’s another matter. But our board members have worked hard with the rest of the club staff to build one of the biggest stadiums in the EPL & have daily ticket revenues of ₤1 million/day. Plus the fact that we’ve started off this season with a bang which will hopefully translate into some trophies in our cabinet.

What the hell do we need a takeover for? Are the shareholders listening? Do they care?

I dont think a take over especially from such a person with a bad citizenship record is healthy for Arsenal.Plus even if it was me an accused for such incidences like he is, would have denied them all even the true ones. Please do not sell arsenal
