Earlier this week Soccerlens had the chance to sit down with Ms Pinho and get to know her better. The interview is featured below – enjoy and remember to wish her happy birthday
Name: Alessandra Pinho
Date of birth: 19/02/89
Place of birth: Montenegro, 50 km away from Porto Alegre, capital of Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil
What did you have to do to become RS Internacional’s female representative for the Musa do Brasileirao?
To enter the competition in the first place it’s vitally important that you truly love football and of course it was imperative that you are a huge fan of Internacional. Luckily, that was me! After seeing all the entrants the club has to choose three Musas to compete for the title.
During the competition I was asked to fulfil several tasks and they included playing football, posing for pictures at the stadium, singing the official club song, commentating on a goal etc.
The club then held an election to choose the winner and that person (which was me!) enters the Musa do Brasileirao which is a contest between a Musa from each club in the Brazilian league.
What was the hardest thing you had to do in the competition and why?
I was away on vacation in Buenos Aires during my school holidays when the organisers of Musa do Brasileirao called me to ask me to film a quick movie. I was in a hotel at the time and couldn’t possibly do it there so I went to the ‘Chocolate Box’ Boca Juniors Stadium and made a video there instead!
But I tell you this, when I had to commentate on a goal during the Internacional competition it was really hard too. I am not a professional!”
How did you feel when you won?
I was watching Inter play our main rivals Gremio at the stadium when suddenly I received a call saying that I had won the election to be Internacional’s Musa. I couldn’t believe it. By the end of the match Inter had beaten Gremio 4-1, so it was undoubtedly the happiest day of my life!
The rest of the world wants to know this; why are Brazilians girls so much more beautiful than elsewhere?!
In my opinion the attraction is more than just physical beauty. Brazilian girls are friendly and have a particular type of charisma. Although I must admit that the high level of miscegenation contributes a lot to the general beauty of people in our country.
Are you really a big fan of Inter or were you just pretending?!
No! I love Internacional so much. I know most of the people at the club, I watch every single game and I still pay my monthly subscription to maintain my Internacional membership.
What is it about football you like so much?
What I enjoy most is to get together with the players in the team but I also love the stadiums, the big crowds, the fans, the parties, the barbecues. There is so much to enjoy at the football matches.
What have you had to do so far in your new role? What’s been the best thing so far?
Nowadays I am much more involved with the club that I was before I became the Musa. I go to the stadium more often for events and I love that. I’ve really enjoyed meeting so many interesting people, making new friends and travelling a lot with the club. From now on I have to wear the Internacional Musa sash (the faixa) and during 2009 we are celebrating Inter’s 100th anniversary so there will be even more parties and celebrations!
Are you a real life WAG? Do you have a footballer boyfriend?
I am not a WAG, no. Most of my friends are to some extent involved with football but not just by using footballer’s credit cards. I was engaged but now I am single, and I want to enjoy being single for a while.
Which WAGs do you like the most?
I like the Brazilian WAG Suzana Werner who is Ronaldo’s ex-girlfriend. She is now married to Inter Milan’s Julio Cesar and they have two children together. I think they are a happy family and I like that. However, I do love Victoria Beckham. I think she is amazing!!
How have the Inter players treated you since you won the competition? Have they asked you on dates?
No dates, the players are all my friends! I have been their Musa for a long time unofficially but now that it’s official I am part of the team and they respect me.
Outside of Inter – which players and teams do you like the most and why?
I do like a player called Alex Silva who plays for Hamburg. AC Milan’s Alex Pato is a great friend of mine too. He is very brave because when he came to Porto Alegre he was 12 years old and all alone. He was desperate to play for Internacional’s youth team so left his family behind to go after his dream.
Name your three most handsome footballers in the world?
There are so many! My top three would be;
Internacional defender Sorondo, AC Milan’s Kaka, and Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
If one of the Soccerlens readers was lucky enough to take you out on a date – what would impress you and why?
The Soccerlens reader must be smart and funny definitely. He needs to make me laugh! I love having fun and lots of laughs. The guy doesn’t need to do much to impress me. I like simple things but so far I must say that an interesting guy is hard to find!
Happy Birthday Alessandra, and thank you for taking out the time to speak to us. Best of luck with your work with Inter.
