Liverpool full back Alberto Moreno wants the Anfield fans to love him for his football rather than his role as Daniel Sturridge’s dance partner. The Spaniard who made a £12m move from Sevilla in the summer has joined Sturrdige’s celebrations but Timothy Ambrose writes for the Mirror that Moreno is worried is Liverpool fans are starting to prefer his twinkle toes to his tough tackling.

Moreno was quoted saying, “I hope they don’t like me just for my dancing! I’d much rather they like me for how I play. Daniel and I had the idea in a training session and now we practise a bit in training whenever he scores. I just joined in against Palace and apparently people liked it. But only if he scores – not if I score. Ever!”

There is no doubt that the left back has been the best summer signing for the Reds alongside Emre Can. The 22 year old has featured 29 times this season as Liverpool are fighting for a top four finish after a disappointing start to the season.

Before Liverpool played Blackburn in the FA Cup last Sunday, Moreno also mentioned his desire to be a part of the club’s illustrious history.

Moreno had said, “In Liverpool we are talking about one of the biggest teams around. They are a historic club and it is not a decision I would change for anything. Obviously it is tough [to leave his home club Sevilla] when leaving your friends, your close family. But when the idea was suggested, it was not something I had to think twice about.”
