Alan Curbishley leaves West Ham on transfers squabble
Alan Curbishley is no longer manager of West Ham United. Reports claim that he has resigned, although it’s just as likely that he was politely shown the door.
Possible reasons for resignation include the failure to bring in a midfield enforcer, the sale of Ferdinand and McCartney (presumably without Curbishley having a say) and maybe even the board’s failure to keep existing players happy (Robert Green, anyone?).
He wasn’t the best man for the job but he did bring stability to a club which - in case people have forgotten - had just bounced back from being relegated a few years ago. The board have failed the fans in this regard but hopefully they can replace him with a good manager and get West Ham moving up the table and entertaining on the pitch as the fans have been clamoring for.
We always knew that his job at the club wasn’t ’safe’ but hardly anyone expected him to leave this early in the season. Still, it’s one down and 19 to go - and Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan is widely expected to follow.

I’m actually kind of shocked that Curbs has left the Ham. West Ham weren’t doing too badly under him IMHO. I’m a Red Devil through and through and that defeat at West Ham last season is still fresh in my mind. Oh well, it’ll be interesting to see who West Ham replace him with. Keegan anybody?
I think it is board’s fault, if u look at how much they have spent and their net earnings for this transfer window. it shoews they have sold more then they have spent. it cant possibly that Curbs dont have a player in mind neither could it be that they cant get their player, they the cash and the status of the club isnt that bad.
their last match against Blackburn was solid, even tho 2 strikes were in injury time, they deserved to win, right? so where did the problem lie?
Look at Spurs? They had a good number of players and yet Ramos dont get sacked(no i am not against our rivals). reaason? they have a prized player disturbing their plans?
I think Sven GE or McClaren will take the job.
Sven leaving Mexico and McClaren leaving FC Twente? Highly unlikely…
