Manchester United transfer newsManchester United and Chelsea have encouraged in their effort to sign Gareth Bale after his agent admitted the forward is unhappy with his situation at Real Madrid.

The former Tottenham Hotspur star has been heavily criticised by the section of the La Liga giants’ supporters throughout this season. He was also slammed by television pundits after Real suffered a 2-1 defeat against Juventus in the Champions League semifinal clash in Turin.

Bale has been linked with a £100m move to the Premier League, with both Louis van Gaal’s side and the newly crowned English champions reportedly interested in signing the Welsh international.

The 25-year-old’s representative Jonathan Barnett has slammed Bale’s Real teammates as he claims the players do not pass the ball to his client, which has hampered his progress at the Spanish capital club.

“Most people would have been broken by this but he is determined. He could have screamed and shouted or knocked on the manager’s office door but he doesn’t want to upset anyone,” Bale’s agent Barnett told Telegraph Sport.

“I spoke to him on Thursday and while he’s obviously p—— off things aren’t going well he is desperate to get out there again.”

“Real have to work with Gareth and pass the ball to him more. Give him more of the ball and let him show everybody what he’s good at. He’s going to be the best player at Real Madrid when his team-mates work with him and help him. Hopefully Real will come to terms with this.”

“I’m very upset that professional pundits don’t realise these facts. Instead of criticising, they should look at it more closely because it’s plain to see when you watch the games,” he stressed.

During Real’s Champions League semifinal defeat to the Serie A winner, Bale had a mere 18 passes during the match. The player’s agent claims his client has been “vindicated” by these statistics.

“We’ve been vindicated by these statistics and it’s what we’ve been saying all along. It proves that people don’t know what they’re talking about when they criticise Gareth, they are not looking at it properly,” Barenett said.
