Valencia defender Adil Rami has been linked with a move away from the La Liga side this summer after revealing he’s after a new challenge.

The 27-year old made 25 league appearances last season, but failed to lead the side to a Champions League place finish (5th). He is said to be keen on joining a bigger side chasing titles and trophies, as his CV at Valencia is currently empty.

Rami was more successful in France – winning the Ligue One title and Coup de France with OSC Lille in 2011.

Arsenal, AS Roma, and Napoli are said to be the favourites to procure his signature. His asking price is around the €12M mark.

‘There is no clause for Rami. But Valencia want to sell him for €12m – that’s how much they bought him for. In addition to Napoli there is another Italian club interested, but it’s not Roma. I haven’t spoken with them.’ – Rami’s agent.

The France international has represented his country on 26 occasions, scoring once. He will be keen to sort out his immediate future as soon as possible in order to force himself into his respective club’s first-team.

Adil Rami wants to put himself in contention of a call-up for the France team at the end of next season, so his form will important.

Serie A side Roma have recently lost their highly rated young defender Marquinhos to Ligue One champions Paris Saint-Germain, and may regard Rami as a good replacement.

Arsenal are currently suffering from a number of injuries sustained to their defence during pre-season. The Gunners are looking at Rami to potentially fill the void, but are yet to make their interest official.

Napoli manager Rafael Benitez has long-admired Rami and previously tried to sign the centre-back on more than one occasion while in charge of Inter Milan.

Rami has many options of sides to join this summer, and will make a decision about his future in the coming week.
